As a Mediterranean and Central European country with an average annual GDP growth of 4% over the last ten years, Croatia is one of the most dynamic transitional countries in this part of Europe.
By entering into negotiations for full membership of the EU, Croatia has turned a new page in its history, both in terms of politics and economy. The process of association with economically developed European countries started by the formation of negotiating teams for respective business fields, in which the Croatian Chamber of Economy once again asserted its critical role through the participation of its staff within negotiating teams.
By opening negotiations with the Republic of Croatia, the European Union recognised democratic development in the country and Croatia's constructive contribution in extending this process throughout South-Eastern Europe. Overall political and economic stability, an effective legal system and free enterprise within a democratic environment are the essential prerequisites for economic development which have opened the door to full membership of the EU for Croatia. On this path, Croatia's main tasks are to increase production and exports whilst cutting total public spending. Further restructuring of companies and improvements in general business conditions are necessary in order to help investors recognise Croatia as the hub for business expansion in this part of Europe.
A wide range of Croatian products have achieved excellent results globally, due their distinctive properties - a combination of Croatian tradition, expert innovation and ingenuity, and systematic research and development. Such products, meeting the highest international criteria, receive the Croatian Creation and Croatian Quality labels from the Croatian Chamber of Economy.
The Croatian Chamber of Economy is a modern, professional institution
that represents and promotes Croatian economic interests both
at home and abroad. Active participation in the region for 157
years ensures the Chamber is a reliable source of information
for all Croatian companies and their international partners.
In providing support to its members through advice and operationally,
the Chamber offers a range of services, from business information
on companies, company law and regulations, to business education
and training, operational and quality improvement, and environmental
protection.
Through the lobbying activities of its Representative Office in Brussels and through its membership of numerous international business associations, the Croatian Chamber of Economy contributes to the negotiation process with the EU. By opening the Euro-Info Centre in Zagreb and an additional four Relay Centres in County Chambers, the CCE provides its members with access to EU-related information. By organising seminars on EU pre-accession funds, the Chamber assists many companies with their applications for EU funding. By continuously training its employees, the Chamber has created a professional, qualified and experienced staff.
The doors of the Croatian Chamber of Economy are always open to all domestic and foreign business people. The Chamber is at the disposal of everyone, and readily provides business information, services and contacts.
