Smart-card production line

AKD acquired an entire production line for smart-card production that uses the technology of plastic layer lamination of the materials like PVC, PC, ABS, PET, PET-G that are used depending on the type and the purpose of the card itself. Upon the lamination, the cards are dye-cut to the desired format and shape according to the whishes of our customers. We have the know-how and the technology necessary for high quality printing on polycarbonate and other plastic materials, and the smart card production process is being carried out on cutting edge technological equipment that guarantees top notch quality of our products.

On request of our customers we are able to incorporate various kinds of security elements like e. g. hologram, Kinegram, guilloche, UV print, MLI/CLI elements and others. The lamination process makes it possible for us to choose an area within the layers where we can place various security features, and even combine them for better security.

We can apply various additional elements like e.g. magnetic stripe, signature panel or rewritable stripes on the cards. Depending on the features that are applied on the cards and the wishes of our customers we can produce contact chip cards, contactless chip cards, multifunctional, hybrid and dual interface cards, micro-processor and memory cards. Card surface can be individualized by laser engraving thermal transfer, dye-sublimation, and relief printing techniques (embossing and indent printing).

The security protocols of our smart card production department are set up pursuant the leading card and financial institutions. Standardization of the production process, issuing and functioning of the cards within the banking system defined a specific manner of behavior applied in all business activities. Special emphasis has been given to the corporate network security.
